The latest issue of Herpetological Review [46(1), 2015] contains observations on the reproductive lifespan of copperheads authored by Drs. Chuck Smith and Gordon Schuett. The female copperhead described in the paper (female 040C) reproduced in the wild in 2001, and then periodically reproduced in the wild for the next twelve years. Although 040C was not located in 2014, we are hopeful that she will be found again during the 2015 field season in Connecticut. The paper is available in pdf form here.
